Adam Farnham, M.Eng., P.E., C.S.P., C.F.E.I.

Adam is the lead fire protection engineer at GT ENGINEERING. He has worked as a consultant for 15 years in the fire protection engineering field. His early work was as a fire protection consultant, trainer and manager for a large industrial property insurance carrier. He also has experience as a fire protection and safety engineer for a property and casualty insurance company. His role at each of these firms was as a consultant to clients on a variety of safety and fire protection projects. His focus was on the interpretation of root causes of accidents and fire investigations, and providing clients with critical feedback and engineered protective systems to prevent their recurrence.

His subsequent work was as an investigative engineer for a forensic engineering firm in the mid-Atlantic. His role was to investigate fires, and design and conduct destructive and nondestructive tests of a variety of engineered systems. These investigations involved fuel fired heating appliances, vehicle fires, consumer goods, industrial equipment, agricultural equipment, household mold and soot evaluations, and a variety of safety systems.

With family ties in the area, Adam moved to Pacific Northwest in the spring of 2001. He initially worked as a team leader for a northwestern regional engineering design firm. His role at this organization was to provide fire protection design assistance to architects and other engineering firms working in the built environment. He also provided support to the legal and insurance community through forensic evaluations of fire origin and cause, and product evaluations.

Adam holds a master of engineering degree in fire protection engineering from the University of Maryland, and is a registered professional engineer in several states. He also holds a Certified Safety Professional designation, as well as a Certified Fire Investigator designation from the National Association of Fire Investigators. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the National Fire Protection Association, the American Society of Safety Engineers, and the Society of Fire Protection engineers.
